Avella Wellness Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Avella Wellness Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Tours will be available during this time and the center will be available for the community to meet staff and providers.

Washington County is bringing new resources to the heart of Independence Township with the opening of the Avella Wellness Center, a
community-focused initiative set to open in March 2026.

The center will be located in the former Avella Family Practice building, which has been renovated into a multi-service facility designed to serve our local residents.

The project is part of a broader county effort that recently awarded more than 50 grants supporting human services programs using a state trust. Through those investments, the Washington County Department of Human Services selected Avella as the site for a pilot drop-in Wellness Center aimed at improving access to care in rural communities.

The goal of the Avella Wellness Center is to connect residents – particularly under-served populations – with resources that may otherwise be difficult to access. By offering services directly within the community, the department hopes to reduce transportation barriers and increase awareness of available programs.

The center will provide access to a full range of Department of Human Services programs. In addition, the facility will house a dental practice, Robert P. Bott, D.M.D., further expanding healthcare options for area families.
