🏀 THE SPORT COURT IS GETTING A WINTER MAKEOVER! ⛸️❄️

It’s almost time to trade basketballs for ice skates!

Independence Township will be temporarily closing the outdoor sport court to basketball at Independence Township Community Park beginning December 1, 2026, through March 31, 2027. November 30 will be the final day to enjoy basketball on the court until spring.

We’ve been busy preparing the court, including power washing, as we get ready to install our ice skating liner. We’re hopeful that Mother Nature cooperates so we can transform the sport court into an outdoor ice skating rink for the winter!

⛸️ Here’s what we’re planning:

• Outdoor ice skating at Independence Township Community Park
• Daily hours: 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• Evening skating under the lights!

Ice rink opening and daily availability will be weather permitting.

We’re excited to bring a little winter fun to our community! Get those skates ready, keep an eye out for updates, and STAY TUNED! ❄️
