Saturday May 6 & Sunday May 7: Opening Weekend — 48th Season

Discover 16,000 years, all in one day! Enjoy Meadowcroft’s prehistoric Rockshelter, 16th century Indian village, 18th century frontier area and 19th century rural village.

 

Saturday, June 10 and Saturday October 14: Walk Through Prehistory (Reservations required)

Travel through time on a 2-mile hike in the footsteps of our hunter-gatherer predecessors. Learn about the flora and fauna the prehistoric people used as a source for food and materials needed to survive. Admission to the museum is included in this partnership with Venture Outdoors. Saturday, June 17th: 21st Annual Meadowcroft Atlatl Competition

 

Beginners are invited to try using the atlatl, a spear-thrower used by prehistoric hunters, and watch experts from the World Atlatl Association compete for high score.

 

Sunday, July 2: Independence Day Celebration

Celebrate the spirit of America with special programming at Meadowcroft.  At 2:00 hear a stirring rendition of the Declaration of Independence in our Fairview Church located in our 19th Century exhibit.  Historic Games will begin at 3:00 on the green behind the Visitor’s Center.

Saturday, August [TDB]: Vintage Baseball Game

Baseball 19th century style. Come watch the Somerset Frosty Sons of Thunder play the Addison Mountain Stars using the 1860s rules.  Enjoy food and fun in the 19th century American tradition.
