We were pleased to welcome Senator Camera Bartolotta to Independence Township for a productive discussion on challenges facing our community and how she can help us. Topics included grant funding opportunities for things like replacement bridge projects, grant funding for emergency services, strategies for strengthening grant applications, and more.We also discussed legislation Senator Bartolotta has championed to support rural townships like ours, as well as the critical needs of our first responders—particularly resources for equipment, mental health and PTSD support. Senator Bartolotta offered to meet with local VFDs and EMS organizations in the future to continue these important conversations. We appreciate her willingness to assist with legislative guidance, grant strategies, and collaborative efforts such as joint letters of support. Senator Bartolotta shared during the meeting that when she is faced with a choice, she will always choose to “Be on the side of the people of Pennsylvania.” ... See MoreSee Less
